The sugar is just going to create more fat. While you might get a sugar buzz and burn more calories, you’re going to retain even more calories when you come off the buzz. I don’t recommend adding sugar to your tea for weight loss.

I use Matcha powder which is green tea leaves in powder that I add to hot water. The taste is stronger, but so are the benefits!!
