Is Lipton Diet bottled tea bad for your teeth?

November 21, 2009

I drink approximately a bottle a day of the Lipton Diet tea in bottles. I noticed that citric acid is the second ingredient on the label, next to water. How much citric acid is in this stuff? Is it as bad as pop? Citric acid wears at your enamel……..

Any kind of beverages that contain high amounts of citric acid or sugar can be harmful to your teeth. Drinking those beverages in moderation is perfectly fine. The problem that people run into is that they open a soda or other sugared drink and they sip on it throughout the day. Slowly drinking the drink causes the sugars to build up on your teeth which can later lead to decay over time. If you are going to drink sodas or other bottled drinks its best to drink the drink and throw it out, then give your teeth a quick brush, don’t sit around sipping on it over time. …………and remember water is good as well…and FREE!! icon smile Is Lipton Diet bottled tea bad for your teeth?
