Reading over easy detox methods & was just wondering if drinking herbal tea is the same as drinking the lemon juice with hot water. Also would you add sugar to the hot water & lemon juice for taste? The website I looked it up on said that was ok, but I’m not sure. I normally don’t use sugar in my teas, honey yes, sugar no. Thanks

Yes, there is a difference. Lemon juice & hot water is exactly that. Herbal lemon tea is made from grated lemon zest (peeling) and Lemon scented Geranium leaves steeped in hot water. Sweetness is optional.

My nephew loves tea, especially raspberry. His mom lets him drink a whole cup full on his own. He is very healthy, so I would say it’s completely ok. If you’re still weary about it, ask her pediatrician.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

my fav is tescos camomile, lemon balm leaves and aloe vera. its the tescos ‘soothing’ range.

just nip into ur local supermarket, have a look at the tea boxes they generally tell u wat the teas are supposd to do. on top of that it will tell u how to brew them, basically its just a tea bag I usually leave mine in the cup until ive drank it

What herbal tea blend will relieve these symptoms I’m having (while I take care of the root causes?)

Dizziness, tension headaches and very mild anxiety (these are due to back/neck muscle tension/injury), intestinal gas. I also would like mental clarity and energy as I don’t want to feel drowsy.

Is this an okay blend in one cup?

Chamomile (to relax neck muscles and nerves to prevent dizziness/tension headache)
Ginger (to combat dizziness, anti-inflammatory)
Basil (to combat intestinal gas)
??? (What else for clarity and energy?)

Fennel is good for abdominal bloating/indigestion.

You should see a chiropractor for help with your back problems.

Acupuncture can help with relieving pain and promoting relaxation within the body.

Rhodiola Rosea can help with mental clarity and energy. I used to take it when I suffered from chronic fatigue problems. It’s been clinically tested for over 30 years. Make sure you get the Rosea variety.

P.S i don’t want links to Crazyfortea website.
Thanks.

I absolutely LOVE this tea, I just started making this one a couple months ago and cannot stop! (This recipe is for a pot, rather than a cup, you can reduce amount of each ingredient if it is only for yourself).

Cinnamon Apple Tea
1 1/2 cups boiling water
6 Cinnamon Apple tea bags
3 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 cups cold water
1 cup grape juice
2 teaspoons lemon juice
Club soda, chilled, optional

In teapot, pour boiling water over teabags; cover and steep 5 minutes. Remove bags; stir in sugar and cool. In pitcher, combine tea, cold water and juices. If you wish, serve in ice-filled glasses with a splash of soda. Garnish with lemon slices.

Recently at my friend’s house, she made a hot brew from a loose packet of tea she bought in France. The tea came out a very beautiful deep red colour and tasted amazing. It was served without milk. It had a slight bitter and sharp taste to it and contained a few small looking green flowers. I loved the slight sour taste. Does anyone had any idea what type of tea it may have been? Thanks you!

Hibiscus is the only tea that I know of that brews up red. Try "Red Zinger" tea.

I have been miserable all yesterday and today. Tea always makes me feel so much better when I have a cold, but I have heard that Herbal tea’s are not good when you are pregnant. But isn’t there certain ones that are ok? Does anyone have any information on that?

I just read about this. Peppermint is safe, read the box to make sure it’s 100% peppermint. Lots of other herbs are unsafe.

My friend in Shanghai, China sent me some Dong Ding(haha) tea for my birthday. My problem is that i’ve never brewed tea without a teabag… how it just comes in an airtight bag and is supposed to be over 50 cups of tea…

How do i go about brewing this tea?
What do i need to buy(if anything) to do so.
I’ll usually only drink 1 cup per serving and he said it should only take about a tablespoon to do the job… what do i ultimately need?

Dong Ding literally means Frozen Top. It is a type of Oo-Long Tea. Half fermented during processing. As opposed to Green Tea which is not fermented, or Black (Red) Tea which is fully fermented. As with coffee, the best way to tell them apart is with all flavors/varieties in place, and sample them at the same time. Otherwise the difference could be too subtle to notice.

The answer you have received was correct in method of brewing. You can use loose leaves in a cup, as that is the most common method in China. The fancier way would be using a tea pot, some of them come equipped with a filter screen inside, which holds the leaves so they don’t get poured out of the spout, or clog the spout up.

If you enjoy french press for coffee, there’s your tea pot in disguise.

As far as adding sugar, to be honest, it really is not true to the Asian form. You will miss out on a lot of the subtle flavors and the natural sweet aftertaste from the tea itself. I’d advise trying the tea without sugar to see if it grows on you.

For a small cup, like a 12oz paper cup size, use about 2 teaspoons of your tea leaves. Let the freshly boiled water hit the leaves in the cup, and wait for the water to turn into light amber color. It is then ready. Should be perfect for a chilly fall evening. Change the amount of tea leaves to suit your taste after you got the hang of it. Enjoy.
