I mainly drink: white chia tea, green tea and black tea. I don’t add anything to any of the teas I drink like milk or sugar. What are the health benefits?

Tea has some antioxidants. From black teas [varying degrees of fermentation and blackness] to green and then white, black has the least and white the most. And white tea is from the buds as opposed to the leaves, which may concentrate antioxidants. Antioxidants are lost to a certain extent in the fermentation process. Black teas being the most fermented. Stick with white tea if it is antioxidants you are interested in. If you want a caffeine free tea that is full of antioxidants then look for green rooibos tea as this is naturally caffeine free. Not aware that you can get a white rooibos tea as of yet.

Adding milk to tea neutralizes some of the antioxidants so again if it is antioxidants you are interested in then stick with drinking your tea without milk… I don’t think milk goes very well with green and white tea anyway

For anyone with iron-deficiency anaemia who has to take iron supplements, as recommended by a doctor, they should avoid black tea and coffee as the tannins can interfere with iron absorption.

Anything you know about Tazo Tea and its benefits would be great!

There is alot of scientific research going on on tea right now. What the cultures of long ago believed about the health benefits of tea is being discovered and reported by scientists today. Green tea by far has been found to have the highest level of antioxidants. Black tea, white tea, oolong and rooibus all have been reported to have health benefits.

Of course loose leaf tea is reported to have the highest quality of nutrition. Store bought tea in bags contain the poorest quality of tea- actually from the left over products from the dried loose leaf teas.

There are many herbal teas that are very tasty and have health benefits as well. I get my information and products from www.your-cup-of-tea.com

For a college class I am doing a research paper over the health benefits of tea, particularly those relating to students. I am required to have a primary source included and would like to contact someone with knowledge in the area. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should go about finding one? Communication by email is enough for my purposes

You can go to a medical library and ask the librarian to do a search of recent articles about the health benefits of tea. With those results, try to contact the publisher or author(s) of the article(s) by doing a bit of extra research.

You could also do a search yourself– www.PubMed.gov is a great place to start. Also, try www.Medlineplus.gov. That’s a great resource for consumer information.

I was just drinking a cup of green tea, and I started getting curious. I’ve always heard green tea was good for you and what not, but how is it good for you? Does it clear your skin or something?
So, my question is…
What are the benefits of drinking green tea?
Are there any bad things about drinking green tea?
I mean like actual green tea. Like the tea in a bag, you put it in hot water and drink it.
Haha, is it weird that I never put anything in my tea? I love the natural flavoring.

t is used to treat multiple sclerosis.
It is used for treatment and prevention of cancer.
It is used to stop Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
It is used to raise the metabolism and increase fat oxidation.
It reduces the risk of heart diseases and heart attacks by reducing the risk of trombosis.
It reduces the risk of esophageal cancer.
Drinking green tea inhibits the growth of certain cancer cells, reduces the level of cholesterol in blood, improves the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol.
It is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and cardiovascular diseases
It is used to treat impaired immune function. .
Some researches show that, drinking green tea regularly may help prevent tooth decay by killing the bacteria which causes the dental plaque.

Can tea tree oil get rid of pimples by using it regularly?how about the jojoba oil?

i don’t think jojoba oil will do anything for your acne
BUT! tea tree oil, dip a qtip in some and use it as a spot treatment on your pimples, or get a wet cotton ball and put a TINY drop on it and use it on your whole face

if you use it full strength on your skin itll dry it out like CRAZY! just don’t do it haha

you can use witchhazel as a good natural astringent every morning and night before you use your tea tree oil(:
just put some on a cotton ball and rub it all over haha

good luck! (:
make sure you’re using a good moisturizer too, i use philosphy hope in a jar, it’s really damn pricey but it’s SAVED my skin. like all my redness is gone and it’s getting rid of my acne scars (:
you can find that at sephora
another good cheap moisturizer is aveeno calming, but the philosophy is waaay better!

I know everyone is in to this tea or that because of the "healthy benefits" they offer, but what about a cup of fresh brewed lipton tea? I usually do not put anything in it, but sometimes I’ll add some honey or lemon.

Black tea has been used throughout history for medical purposes, long before it became a breakfast tea. It helps relieve diarrhea, lowers cholesterol levels and helps prevent tooth decay. The tea has a therapeutic effect on gastric and intestinal illnesses because of its tannins, which decrease intestinal activity and exerts an antidiarrheal effect. To get the maximum benefit for diarrhea, let the tea steep for a full 15 minutes. This releases a good amount of tannins, also drink it unsweetened.

Unlike high levels of caffeine found in coffee, the low amounts in black tea promotes blood flow in the brain without overstimulating the heart. The caffeine in black tea sharpens mental focus and concentration, and the trace element fluoride inhibits tooth decay. Black tea also contains abuindant tannins, astringent chemicals and soothing anti-inflammatory effects on the digestive tract.

I drink loads of peppermint tea. Can I drink to much? Is it good for me? What are the effects? I am also going to try Chamomile and Green tea, do you know anything about them?

Peppermint in large quantities can cause indigestion. It is a digestive herb but it relaxes the sphincter in the esophagus and can let stomach acid back up. Better to limit yourself to 1 or 2 cups a day or use the mint to flavor another herbal tea. Don’t drink on top of a meal unless you already have indigestion.

Chamomile can make you sleepy. It is a nice, relaxing, evening tea. It is also a digestive, especially for nervous stomach.

Green tea the way the Asians drink it, is healthful. That is brewed with hot water, not boiling, steeped only about 3 minutes and drank without anything else in it.

Some good herby teas to drink habitually are Rooibos (tastes a bit like Lipton’s black tea but no caffeine & higher in antioxidants than green tea), Red Raspberry leaf tea (lots of minerals) and Nettles. Try mixing them up and adding just a pinch of mint.

Peppermint in large quantities is contraindicated in pregnancy.

I want to lose a few more pounds and I keep hearing how great green tea is to boost your metabolism and how it’s full of antioxidants. Is it as effective when it’s iced, or do you have to drink it hot?

tea is a very healthy drink don’t get me wrong. it may boost your metabolism, but it won’t boost it significantly like jogging a mile for example. It’s chock full of antioxidants and may prevent some diseases and other ailments.

the key to getting the benefits is brewing it hot. You can’t really brew it cold because the hot water is required to release the oils and other substances in the tea leaves.

what you can do is brew it hot and put it over ice. you still get the added benefits that way. some people like to brew the tea twice as strong because the ice will dilute it.

I am a teen loosing weight and its worked very well, but i have been drinking nothing, but water these past few months. Does Jasmine have any health benefits? Can it help me loose weight?
Can I drink it instead of water?
does it cause Diarreah? i dont want it to cause diahrrea

Tea in general is a good drink as it is high in antioxidants, has been shown to protect against various diseases including cancer and cardio-vascular diseases, and can aid in weight loss by increasing your metabolic rate, which means you burn calories faster.

However, to get more benefits I would recommend drinking green or white tea instead of black tea. (Jasmine is just a flavoured version of black tea). Green and white tea have been less processed, so they have more antioxidants and less caffeine (although any kind of tea has far less caffeine than a cup of coffee).

The caffeine content of tea may have a diuretic effect, i.e. making you need to urinate more, which means you should drink more water if you start to drink a significant amount of tea. However, this effect does depend on how tolerant your body is of caffeine generally – if you are taking in a lot in any case then the amounts in tea shouldn’t make much difference.
