Excellent post! I didn\\\'t know that adding milk to your tea destroyed the value of anti-oxidants. :( Too bad cause I like milk in my tea. Anyway, thanks for sharing the information.

Red rooibos also has many antioxidants as does yerba mate. Rooibos naturally has no caffeine and yerba mate, well, it's debatable. Some people think it does have caffeine and some don't (they think it has mateine, xanthine like caffeine--I'm one of these people) Either way, you shouldn't experience any of the adverse effects of caffeine, (even if you are sensitive to caffeine) even though you will have that "mentally alert" feeling. This makes yerba mate a great alternative to coffee. www.fullyflexed.com/yerba-mate

I absolutely love tea. I had an upset stomach and drank Ginger Tea and it really helped within 30-60min. The power of tea is amazing!

It\'s nice to see a blog post where people know their stuff. Alot of people that are anemic should pay attention to when they consume iron supplement and with what. As stated, teas and grains can interfere with the absorption of iron.

Just how much tea and which one?

According to sources, 2 to 3 servings of brewed tea helps in maintaining the body balance throughout the day and keeping a person alert and active. However, more than four cups of tea, may do more harm than good to your health making you depend on it in terms of an addiction. Also, too much of tea leads to mood swings, headaches, depression, fatigue etc. To read more good and bad effects of tea see http://www.medimanage.com/mydiet/articles/just-how-much-tea-and-which-one.aspx
References :
http://www.medimanage.com/mydiet/articles/just-how-much-tea-and-which-one.aspx

Drinking green tea each day is actually very healthy for you. The tea’s rich concentration of catechin polyphenols act as powerful antioxidants that ward off disease and improve health.

Scientific findings have linked drinking green tea to helping slow or prevent heart disease rheumatoid arthritis, impaired immune disease, and liver disease. In addition, some studies have indicated tea may have cancer-fighting properties for cancer of the bladder, colon, esophageal, stomach, and pancreas.

I hope this helps.
References :
http://www.learn-about-tea.com/health-benefits-of-green-tea.html

Green tea has antioxidants so it is very healthy and I've never heard anything about making you infertile. I would ignore that myth. Green tea will help you live longer (seriously, my grandfather is healthy and drinks green tea!) Theres a lot of great benefits to it, but if you drink too much in one day consistently everyday, just to let you know, any kind of tea can lower iron levels, but so does coffee. (found out when I donated blood!) but having a good diet with lots of iron will balance it out =)
References :
Green tea is making the news everyday about the wonderful health benefits it contains. It is important that if you are really concerned about your health, drinking loose leaf tea will give you the maximum health benefits.Tea bought in a store in tea bags is a low grade product.
BTW, if you add milk to your tea you loose the health benefit.

You must also consider what you put into your tea. Drinking green tea will not make you infertile.
References :
Diane Carbo
