In all the 18th or 19th century movies or series I've seen, people are always drinking tea. ALWAYS! Plus they say things like "That's not my cup of TEA" , or "I wouldn't do that for all the TEA in China." What is this tea they're drinking? Was there one certain common tea that everyone had?
I am decently sure it was just plain orange pekoe tea, because that was the age of the exploration to china ect. where they grew the tea.
The health benefits in certain teas? Are they good for someone who wants their acne gone or not?
May 29, 2009I also used to wonder what was in some of the teas I drink occasionally. Since I struggle with acne for the last 6 years would these teas help clean me out internal and help reduce my stress?
Green Tea
Chamomile Tea
Peppermint Tea?
And if you have other suggestions, please do say them!
Green tea has antioxidants in it. Antioxidants are responsible for killing free radicals in the body which end up causing diseases. It is the same with the skin. Antioxidants can help make the skin more clearer and brighter…some have even shown an improvement in skin tone.
the amount of antioxidants in green tea are not as much as those in white tea…so if you are serious about it you should consider getting a pack of white tea and trying it out for a few weeks.
There are tons more benefits of white tea to health and you may want to read a bit on it.
I got a free pack recently….you should too.
What are some good ways to make green tea?
May 28, 2009I love sweetened black tea, but would like to start drinking green tea. Can I use green tea for sun tea? How do I do it?
I've never tried making sun tea with green tea, but I've tried several instant iced tea made with green tea and they were good. Go for it!
Is green tea really good for you or is it just hype?
May 27, 2009Also, is there a certain brand that is better or more potent? I just buy Bigelow Green Tea from the supermarket. Thanks!
Green tea is good as long as you don't overly fill it with sugar. It contains high amounts of antioxidants and little to no caffiene. I use Uncle Lee's brand because it's organic and tastes great but Tazo also makes a really good one. Chai tea is good too but it's very hard to find authentic cha tea in the US. Most of it is a customized blend or offset of chai tea and not the real thing.
I know its green tea because I ask them, but it has a distinct flavor that is much different than the green teas that I have at home. I've been to a couple different places and the tea is the same, any suggestions?
Go to a Japanese food market and look for green tea. The most common brand you will see is Yama Moto Yama. If they do not carry that then ask one of the clerks to help you. READ THE LABEL. I CANNOT SAY THAT ENOUGH BUT READ THE LABEL. BE SURE IT READS PRODUCT OF JAPAN. You DO NOT want green tea coming from China. No body knows how much 'other' substances they use when producing items such as green tea. Be Careful.
