What are the health benefits of tea?

December 23, 2009

I mainly drink: white chia tea, green tea and black tea. I don’t add anything to any of the teas I drink like milk or sugar. What are the health benefits?

Tea has some antioxidants. From black teas [varying degrees of fermentation and blackness] to green and then white, black has the least and white the most. And white tea is from the buds as opposed to the leaves, which may concentrate antioxidants. Antioxidants are lost to a certain extent in the fermentation process. Black teas being the most fermented. Stick with white tea if it is antioxidants you are interested in. If you want a caffeine free tea that is full of antioxidants then look for green rooibos tea as this is naturally caffeine free. Not aware that you can get a white rooibos tea as of yet.

Adding milk to tea neutralizes some of the antioxidants so again if it is antioxidants you are interested in then stick with drinking your tea without milk… I don’t think milk goes very well with green and white tea anyway icon wink What are the health benefits of tea?

For anyone with iron-deficiency anaemia who has to take iron supplements, as recommended by a doctor, they should avoid black tea and coffee as the tannins can interfere with iron absorption.

Is it bad to drink green tea almost every day?

December 23, 2009

I drink a lot of green tea and grey tea. Is it as bad as coffee? And is there something bad about drinking specifically green tea? I’ve heard myths about it making you infertile.

Green tea is making the news everyday about the wonderful health benefits it contains. It is important that if you are really concerned about your health, drinking loose leaf tea will give you the maximum health benefits.Tea bought in a store in tea bags is a low grade product.
BTW, if you add milk to your tea you loose the health benefit.

You must also consider what you put into your tea. Drinking green tea will not make you infertile.

Does Tazo Tea have the same health benefits as any other tea?

December 20, 2009

Anything you know about Tazo Tea and its benefits would be great!

There is alot of scientific research going on on tea right now. What the cultures of long ago believed about the health benefits of tea is being discovered and reported by scientists today. Green tea by far has been found to have the highest level of antioxidants. Black tea, white tea, oolong and rooibus all have been reported to have health benefits.

Of course loose leaf tea is reported to have the highest quality of nutrition. Store bought tea in bags contain the poorest quality of tea- actually from the left over products from the dried loose leaf teas.

There are many herbal teas that are very tasty and have health benefits as well. I get my information and products from www.your-cup-of-tea.com

What’s the difference between green tea and oolong tea?

December 15, 2009

Just curious (:

Green tea is the naturally dried tea leaves. When tea leaves are fully fermented, that creates black tea. Oolong is partially fermented tea leaves.

All tea comes from the same plant. White tea is from the newest growth of green tea leaves and orange pekoe is black tea.

How long does tea stay good for?

December 15, 2009

There have been bags of lipton regular tea in my cupboard for years. The plastic seal covering the box was broken, so the only type of cover they have had are the individual paper bags they come in, and a box where they were being held. The original box didn’t have an expiration date.
Na, it was stored in a dry place i believe, but I will check for mold. And we did have mice for awhile, but I don’t think they ever got in the cupboards. THanks a lot guys, i’ll give some a try later.

It is a dried up herb basically. It may become stale..but you wont taste the difference if you make it stronger then normal.

I do this all the time lol
